As an incentive to pay dues
early, every year the Post hosts an Early Bird Dinner, usually on the first
Saturday after Veterans Day. All members of the American Legion Disney-Bell Post
66 family, Post 66, Auxiliary Unit 66 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron
66, who have paid their dues for the next year, are entitled to attend this free
event. Happy hour starts at 5:00 pm and is followed by a great meal prepared by
the Auxiliary. Everyone always has a great time.
In 2001, as an extra bonus, the
Post awarded a free "Paid-Up-For-Life" (PUFL) membership to a lucky member. A
drawing was held on Saturday, November 17th from among all members who have paid
their 2002 dues as of November 11th. The winner was Clifford Cline, a Post
member for 17 years and World War II veteran. Congratulations to you, Clif. Your
dues is paid for life.
Next year, it could be you. You
need not be present to win and all we ask is that you pay your dues early. Not a
bad deal! You pay your dues (which you would do anyway), get a great meal (free)
and a chance to get your dues paid for life!
