2007-2008 Turkey Shoot Season Begins October 21
and goes until March 2008
Post 66 Turkey Shoots have been a
tradition in Bowie for several generations... back when you actually won a
live turkey. Well, it's a little different these days. You bring the 12g
shotgun, we supply everything else; the targets, ammo and prizes.
There will be cash prizes after each shoot,
occasional special shoots, and much more fun.
Start your day with a great but
inexpensive breakfast right here at Post 66. The Auxiliary serves
breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m. You don't need to be a shooter to enjoy
a great breakfast. Just stop on by, grab a bite to eat, and hang around to
watch. You might even get lucky on a scatter shot.
Shoots begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
and the cost is only $55 for 20 shots.
Anyone wishing to shoot may register at
the bar by signing the shoot list and pre-paying the $55 anytime during the
week before the shoot. On the day of the shoot, registration begins at 7:00
am. Once all targets are assigned, no add-ons are permitted until after the
first round of 20 shoots are completed. This usually happens around 10:30 or
11:00. Extra shoots will continue as long as there are shooters willing to
shoot.
We shoot every Sunday, except
Christmas, New Years, and Super Bowl Sunday, from October through March. So
clean up your shotguns and break out your long johns and join us for a great
time.
